Resources for Teaching Zoology
Do you teach Zoology? Or just like animals? Here are some resources I've collected after teaching a zoology lab for several years.

Histology:
High Resolution Images of hundreds of tissue slides with detailed descriptions
Insects:
Beautiful photos by a museum curator of entomology that teachers are free to use

Tricky for students to use but the Smithsonian's Entomology collection has thousands of specimens online.

Echinoderms:
A lovely blog from a researcher at the Smithsonian with lots of information on echinoderms and other invertebrates

Miscellaneous Animals in the Deep Ocean:
Short videos of research outings into the deep ocean by Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. Many videos narrated by researchers!

NOAA Ocean Exploration’s Benthic Deepwater Animal Identification Guide has lots of nice photos of animals in the wild.

Miscellaneous Invertebrates in Museums:
Virtual Slides from the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History's Invertebrate Zoology Collection. Very easy to search!

Not as easy to search, but the Smithsonian Invertebrate Zoology collections have thousands of specimens to view online.
I have used Yale Peabody Museum's invertebrate zoology collection, but they have other zoology collections online as well.
